Follow the money trail. Cui Bono?

Once upon a time I did Tech Support for QuickBooks. Lots of people in business are clueless about the importance of numbers. Explaining a P/L and Balance Sheet to a Muffler shop in NC. High comedy at best.

Computer tracking of your business is key. The days of book keeping in a notebook is so over.

Get some software, learn how to use it. Enter your info daily if you can, weekly if you must.

Jim Rohn, "Story don't fit in the little box." or something to that effect.

Track your time too. Is X getting you to Y? Why not?

Numbers are life forces in Numerology.

As long as you know how to reducing simple additions to 1-digit number like add 1+2+3+9 = 15 = 1+5 = 6, then you won't feel mathematically challenged in using Pure Numerology to decipher any personality.

I did General Ledger Accounting YEARS ago. Intriguingly enough I am pretty good (not PhD in Math from Yale like my dad GREAT, must GOOD, I get them, and am happy and comfy WITH them. bizarre. I know.) AT NUMBERS.

Balance Sheet. P/L. Why speak Greek when you don't have to? Indeed QUICKEN is superb because it approaches business numbers in a manner most people GET. Perfect. Then GET (go purchase now...) QUICKEN for Small Businesses.

Tim, AHEM, where is your affiliate code hyperlink for this! (drumming fingers on table).

Intuit needs no help from me.
Quicken is Single Entry, easy to fudge the books the wrong way. Quick Books has debit/credits with balancing accounts.

'Greek' is the language to money guys speak

Great advice. I really should get my accounts stuff sorted into a package, instead of out-sourcing it to my accountant.

Bookkeeping is a necessary bore. I find that when I let myself get behind, it is very painful to catch up. So, I've vowed to stay caught up this year!

Till you measure everything! Like HP had 105 processes one employee had to track! Too much of a good thing is 'bad'.
