LOL Mormons are told to have a 2 year food supply now. Take it from me I am one. You are funny and I do think that either get prepared or buddy up with someone like me. HAHAHA

Thanks, Mesha good easter to ya.

Another great post. You are right on about the police - and even if they wanted to, the simply cannot protect you specifically.

Christian

I hope your child is ok,

Thanks for the post.

Hopefully your child is better today. I'm beginning to wonder if the government getting to simeone in three days isn't a bit optimistic.

Thanks

Tim -
I hope your little one is feeling better and that it doesn't spread to the rest of your family!

This is fascinating: "NASA developed some food that is 98% absorb-able! (not much too worry about at other end!)" I never knew that.

I hope your kid is okay Tim.

I laughed out loud when I read your advice to make friends with a Mormon! :-)

I'm really interested to see where you're going with all this survival talk. It's like being in the boy scouts again!

Just what are you preparing for???

You are so right about the Mormon's, they consider it there duty to be self-reliant and prepared for emergencies. Their recommended kits can be found on the Internet and I did this after 9-11

Another thing if you live in a city is to have a hotel in a rural area that is a meet-up point for your family if you are away when an evacuation of your city is needed. Know the phone number so you can call to see if the others are there...

Prepare for anything? You have forgotten more about Insurance than I know. Things change. Bad things happen. Be ready.

Hope your child is feeling better.

Can't wait for the next post to see the next step.

Also would love to see you dispell some myths or tips on what you can and cannot eat from mother nature...

Every year we go for mushrooms in the local woods. I ONLY know how to pick "hen of the woods" mushrooms and do NOT touch anything else. Learned from my father who learned from his father. However we don't have a dog...as my grandmother used to feed the cooked mushroome to her "beloved" dog before feeing them to the family!

Sounds like you're already preparing for civil war...

Hope the little one is feeling better.

Tim,

Be prepared is what I try to live by. You never know what may happen.

Hardly prepping for 'Civil War' no talk of munitions stockpiling blah blah. Not quoting dead rebels of the past.

All goes back to Self Reliance, taking care of yourself. Too many people are expecting to be cared for!(demanding it really)

"If it is to be, it is up to me."

Yann, anybody reading this is not waiting around for the powers that be to direct them.
That'll teach you to eat at the Rain Forest cafe! Seriously though, I hope Scott feels better and that it was nothing serious.

My experience with hunger is that on the 3rd day things aren't that bad. Day 1 & 2 are tough and I hear that day 40 and beyond are really bad.

Little guy was off a bit that day too. Point of hunger is to sharpen your desire to eat. My whole point has been 'Think' about what comes first. You didn't die missing a meal or three!

Taking fasting to self reliance. It does pay to be prepared. Northridge earthquake - no power to cook or heat the house. Using the water had stored in the cupboard. Never know when you will want those supplies.

Timothy, It is tough when your child is sick. You certainly have a lot of will power if you can fast that long. Mark

I think many people in the Western world have become accustomed to relying on others, in fact our education system basically encourages it.

I never new about the low-waste food; fascinating!
