How to get out of Debt

Great post because it is common sense that we often forget about. I recently ended a relationship and one of the main reasons was her out of control spending and refusal to eat at home without putting up a fight. I watch people bury themselves in debt because they can't live without the "shiny".

Great job Timothy! I really enjoyed what you had to say. I know how hard it is to get out of dept. ours came from medical dept and it's a pain in the kneck as well, I used to have a 740 credit score. I was also going to mention if a person has place for a gardan that is an eccellent way to save money with the cost of food. plus it might help a person eat more healthy. Seeds you can get for cheep and you can get alot of enjoyment out of it. Great way to save money. thanks again for your post of ways to save money. thanks steve

Get 'heirloom' seeds. Check out square foot gardening. Add 'rock flour' dust to soil.
Magic formula for soil compost, vermiculite, and I have to watch video again!

Medical Billing is wrong 80% of the time! Challenge them to prove the expense. Love the 'consult' fee.

These are all great tips that are becoming more important today than ever. Here's a thought. Pile on debt for assets right now and then pay them off with depreciated dollars in the future.

Bet on inflation, cause it's coming and coming hard.

I agree on buying assets. Define it a little more! Asset puts $ in your Pocket, Liability takes money out. Alligators are green cause they eat money.
Paying with cash when possible - great advice! It really makes you think twice about buying something when you have to hand over cash than just whipping out the credit or debit card.

It's also a great object lesson for kids - "So sorry sweetie - no, you can't have this toy or that candy. We only have this much cash left this week and we need it for gas and groceries."

Good reminder!

A great idea for nearly everyone. Paying with cash really makes you watch what you are doing.

Tim, Assets would be gold, rice and ammo. Borrow all the money you can and buy as much rice and gold as you have the ammo to defend.

This one of those "great idea I'll get right on that see ya" things in my life. It's never too late to start and I have a good chance of rectifying things as well as teaching my children.

Thanks for the reminder

Good advice about getting out of debt. Pay with cash. Sure does sharpen up the budget sense when you open the wallet and there is only so much in it.

I think if you can borrow at historically low rates and buy appreciating assets then you will be in good shape. I agree with Steve that inflation is coming. Mark

This is really great advice. We just recently used our tax refund to pay off everything but the mortgage. We never used to carry debt on credit cards. We paid them off every month until my husband got laid off a few times and we needed to use them. At least we are out from under the weight now.
