How do you buy your books?
Wait for Amazon to ship. Go to Borders for a latte and a bestseller? Ever buy used?
Abebooks, 10,000 book stores combined with plenty of used books. Amazon Marketplace too!
Myself, I am hunting at the Library Book sale. Always surprised by the finds. Bought a book for $1, sold on eBay for $61 to a nice fellow in London. He was happy and so was I.
Currently have seventy plus boxes of books in storage awaiting a better catalog and sales process. Most will never get to the net since I value them so highly.
Happy treasure hunting!

When I lived in New York, I would frequent the bookstores. What a luxury to have so many. Now, online. Often have books sent to local B&N for p/u.

I loooovvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee shopping for books -- not a lot of self-control there. The internet is even more tempting because it likes to say "people who purchased this book, also looked at..." and, of course, I click on them. Each click/purchase then leads to a new set of them which tempts me again. So, I almost always end up with at least 3 more books than I planned on buying.

I buy 'em in batchs and then read them with a highlighter and notebook. I always have too many and hate to give them up.
98% of my purchases are at Amazon, 2% impulse. Thinking about the kindle but it is not on my buy screen yet.

I love books, and practically live in my Border's. Cup of coffee, stack of books, I'm a happy girl. I research a lot of books at Amazon, too. Like Sue, I get sucked into following the rabbit trails.

I complelely relate to Success Coach Sue Crutcher... I buy 95% of my books from Amazon and always end up buying 2 or 3 more than I had intended. And it doesn't help that I have another 160+ (and growing) titles on my wishlist.
Alibris and eBay also come in handy for old hard-to-find books.
