Disney Land lesssons learned
Get in shape. I walked 12-13 hours a day! Layer socks to prevent blisters. Read the Map!
Use Fast Pass! when possible, don't try to get them all at once(computer blocks that)
Drink water. Know where the Restrooms are located(see map)
Plan.
Take breaks. Rumor has it you can bring in a cooler nowadays. Bring plenty of water($3 a bottle is not cheap)
Bring a change of clothes if you go on water rides (you will get soaked in Bear Country)
Eating off 'Property' was just as pricey. Rain Forest Cafe was great.(not as $ as I feared)
Stay in a Disney hotel to get in early and ride the Monorail.

Been to Disneyland in Japan. I missed the one in Hong Kong when my wife & son went there as I just hurt my leg back then.

We had the entire day planned based on the guidebooks that tell you traffic patterns. Stay on Disney property and get in early, it helps. Use Fastpass when leaving faves to come back for a re-ride a little later. Plan a mid afternoon sitdown character lunch if you have kids that will like it. Avoid It's a Small World at all costs. Do the Pooh ride a few extra times to make up. Make sure to get a great spot for the parades, they are awesome. Bring throwaway rain ponchos and if it rains enjoy yourselves.

All great tips, been there 9 times. Yes, water is pricey. Never heard the layer socks tip - did your feet fit in yor shoes with them, weren't you too hot? Just curious. Might need to try that next time.

Ah, the Magic Kingdom. I used to have the system down but I have found that it is best to avoid it all together these days.
I have found the real world to be more magical. Still, it can be a blast and I still enjoy the character breakfast even without my kids. Very nostalgic.

Character breakfast was pricey, food was awesome. Salmon for my breakfast! Stitch stole the sausage off my plate(new photo up soon)

We visited the European Disney (Paris); they operated a VIP scheme where you got to have breakfast each day with a couple of the characters dropping in and got fast track passes to the big rides so you could go straight past the queues - it was well worth the extra cost!
On the last day we left quite early and gave our fast passes to some teenagers who had just arrived; they couldn't believe they were going to be able to beat the queues!

Your post brings back pleasant memories Tim. We took the children to Disney World in Florida back when they were 4 and 7 -- it was such a pleasure to see and feel the joy and excitement emanating from them! We did the Disney 3-day cruise and then to Disney World with Grandma, Granddad, Uncle, Aunt and 2 cousins. Our son really wanted to know how Mickey Mouse got to Disney World before us since he was still on the boat when we left. The cruise was fabulous for the kids as well. Our daughter loved the pirate dinner.

Hey Tim,
where have you been? I am still clicking through websites daily but yours hasn't been working for some time now. Is this temporary? The babysitting lady would still like to help past and present members of Hogan's Heroes. So if you have a new site or if and when your old site is back up, let me know!
