All cables are not equal

I am a idiot.

All Cat5 cables are the same right? No, Network cable is not the same as a 'cross over' cable. Different configurations! Fits the same hole, just does not deliver the goods. (Put that way for you April)

Old Router was a gift. Figured it was the problem. Bought new. It failed. Examine the pieces, and lo the yellow cable was labeled 'cross over', change the cable and "Surfs Up!"

Now can go wireless, or have Four PC's online at once!! no more sharing time, and pasting the rj-45 around!

What this means to you is I can go back to work! My wife has been on the couch with my cable signal.

Just had a discussion today about using cat 5 to control a cable bus system. I didn't realize you could run stereo over such small wires. Who knew

So happy to hear all is well with you and that all systems are go. My husband is the cable guy around here -- probably the cable expert. As Jenn says, this is over my head (not entirely, but sometimes it works out well to not mention what you do know).

I plan to get all of the McGuyver tv shows to enjoy with my boy.

My sister actually got me the entire collection a few years ago for a present. I never have made it through all of them but all of the ones I did see I remembered exactely what happens
